Sri Lanka, formerly Ceylon is famous as the land of the Demon King Ravana. The Hindu epic, the Ramayana dwells on the beauty and splendour of Sri Lanka, for Ravana was said to be a rich king, the brother of Kubera, the treasurer of the Gods.

Sri Lanka, often known as the Pearl of the Indian Ocean, is a very special Island surrounded by sea and a perfect destination for a beach holiday. When the seas are rough on one side of the island there are calm waters on the other side making it a year round destination. Despite being a small island it has a wide range of geographic features and is rich in natural beauty. Large area of the country is covered in tropical forests, with hundreds of rivers flowing through them, often cascading in awesome waterfalls.
